This is such an exciting time to work in healthcare administration, in risk, governance, assurance and patient safety. The new Patient Safety Strategy is set to disrupt the governance world and bring challenges and insight needed to secure a safe environment for both patients and staff: it feels as though we are being seen for the first time.
The past two years necessarily interrupted the roll-out of the new initiatives but some work has carried on in the background.
Ahead of the changes, I wanted to informally share my ideas and experiences about what it means to work in this space; to try to understand some of the complexities involved and to clear some headspace for the pivot ahead.
